How we choose products
Our research and editorial process, in plain language.
What we analyze
For every product we recommend, we compare three kinds of evidence before writing a word:
- Verified purchase reviews — we weigh hundreds of real buyer reviews, not just the top few stars.
- Manufacturer specifications — materials, dimensions, warranty, USAPA approval (for paddles).
- Price history and trends — products that drop 40% one month are usually overstock, not bargains.
What disqualifies a product
Any one of these is an automatic exclusion:
- Fewer than 50 independent verified reviews.
- A pattern of durability complaints across buyers (e.g. delamination, grip separation).
- Misleading claims ("tour-approved" when it isn't, etc.).
How we rank
Our picks aren't ordered by highest commission — they're ordered by what we'd recommend to a friend at that price point. We explicitly flag weaknesses, even of our favorites. If we can't find three products we believe in, we publish fewer than three.
How affiliate compensation works
Paddliqueearns a small commission from qualifying Amazon purchases made through our links (we're part of the Amazon Associates Program). This has no influence on which products we feature or how we rank them. We include or exclude products based only on merit.
How we update
Every roundup and review is reviewed at least every 90 days. When a brand releases a meaningful update, we re-test against the previous version before swapping a pick.
